In the Biomolecular Interaction Group (BIG) we develop specific biomolecules against target receptors in the CNS. The Phage Display Technology is utilized for selection of peptide binders and antibody fragments (Fab, scFv). Recently we have established a camel single domain (nanobody) library for selection of smaller and less sterically hindered antibody fragments. Current projects include the development of antibody fragments with subtype selectivity against ionotropic glutamate receptors (iGluRs). We have an extensive collaboration with the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, FARMA-KU (Rasmus P. Clausen, Jette Kastrup and Anders A. Jensen).
