Lecture: Dry powder inhalation aerosol delivery - from particle production to lung deposition

Friday, September 24, 2010 at 13:00 - 14:00 hrs in the Benzon auditorium

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Universitetsparken 2, 2100 Copenhagen

Professor Hak-Kim Chan, University of Sydney

Brief summary of the lecture:

Driven by the pharmaceutical industry to realise the full potential of the lungs for local and systematic treatment of diseases, pulmonary drug delivery by inhalation aerosols has undergone a significant development over the past two decades. This has led to novel research of aerosol delivery devices coupled to the formulations and new technologies that are required to produce particles of defined characteristics for improved delivery. The lecture highlights some of the key findings and recent advances in this rapidly expanding field.
