Peter E. Nielsen has received the Novo Nordisk Prize, Lundbeck Foundation Nordic Research Prize, as well as Institute Curie Jeanne Loubaresse award. He is a member of the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO), and The Danish Academy of Technical Sciences, and is a member of several scientific evaluation committees. He is also editor of a novel journal: Artificial DNA: PNA & XNA, co-editor of Combinatorial Chemistry & High Throughput Screening and on the editorial board of for example Chemistry and Biology, ChemBioChem, Systems Chemistry BBA and Bioconjugate Chemistry. Finally, he has co-founded biotech companies PNA Diagnostics A/S, and Pantheco A/S (now Santaris A/S), is co-author of more than 375 papers, has been editor of four books and is co-inventor of more than 20 patents and patent applications.
