Generally medicinal chemistry and the development of new methodology for the construction of compound classes of relevance to medicinal chemistry.

Currently focussing on the following projects:

Structure-Activity Relationships of Eyrthrina Alkaloids on the Neuronal Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptors.

The erythrina alkaloids are a family of very potent antagonists of the nAChR. Through modifications of their structure we are trying to unravel the structural determinants for their interaction with the nAChR.

Development of new serotonergic PET-ligands

In collaboration with Prof. Gitte Moos Knudsen's group at NRU we are developing new selective PET ligangs for the 5HT-receptor system. These projects are conducted in affiliation with the research center CIMBI.

Epigenetics: Devellopment of histone demethylase inhibitors.

In collaboration with Prof. Helin's group at BRIC we are trying to unravel the mechanisms behind epigentic regulation with focus on the JMJ2-family of histone demethylases.
