Research
Studies focus on investigation on conformational flexibility and intermolecular contacts for compounds related to neurotransmitters in the central nervous system, especially acetylcholine, 4-aminobutyric acid and glutamic acid. The aim is to achieve information on structural requirements for the interaction between the neurotransmitter and the actual receptors.   
X-ray crystallographic studies performed on ligands and protein – ligand complexes in order to analyze the conformations of the compounds and to analyze the favorable contacts, which might be correlated to the observed biological activity.

70 publications in peer reviewed journals and several poster presentations at conferences and symposia.

Member of the Danish National Committee for Crystallographers

Teaching
Participating in regular teaching programs for pharmacy students. Lectures, seminars, practical courses and setting examinations in basic organic chemistry and philosophy of science. Furthermore, participating in planning and holding two courses: "Structural Chemistry and Molecular Modelling" for pharmacy students and "Advanced Structural Chemistry and Molecular Modelling" for PhD-students.
Advisor for pharmacy students during their final research projects.
Advisor and external examiner for PhD-students.
