Claus Møldrup became professor in 2010 in continuation of a period as assistant and associate professor since 2000. He graduated with a MSc degree in pharmacy in 1996, and earned his PhD in 2000. His dissertation was on the risk of future drugs from the perspective of both experts and lay people.
His prolific research results are published in national as well as international scientific journals, and he is also the author of two books and several chapters in anthologies .
The future is a recurring theme in Claus Møldrup's work, although he wants his results to be immediately applicable for patients, authorities and drug producers. His research focus covers a wide spectrum from healthy people's use of drugs, lifestyle medicine, doping, to the ethical and legal aspects of pharmacogenetics.
Risk theory is Claus Møldrup's primary theoretical interest, particularly with regard to risk society. His strengths in methodology lie in his understanding of how to utilize IT potential in collecting data. He is a serious Internet user and sees cell phones as tools for data collection in future.
Claus Møldrup makes a special point of conveying his knowledge in a way that can be understood by the general public. His popular appeal has resulted in innumerable interviews for newspapers, radio and television and more than 300 lectures.
