Drug dosage forms such as tablets, gastro-resistant tablets and prolonged release tablets are usually produced in industrial scale employing various unit operations, e.g. mixing, granulation, drying, compaction and coating. The understanding of these processing technologies is important for the quality attributes of these dosage forms.

The research in the pharmaceutical technology group is focused on the formulation and processing of particulate drug delivery systems. The group is focusing on understanding the chemical and physical properties of the active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients in relation to their processing behavior, and further, in relation to bioavailabity of the final dosage form.
