Pharmaceutical technology

There is a complex interplay between the physical and chemical properties and related unit operations of the active pharmaceutical ingredients as well as the excipients. This research area addresses the issue and focuses on the molecular-based formulation of solid-state pharmaceutics. The main target is to widen and deepen our understanding of material properties during the manufacture of pharmaceutics, with special focus on the processability of solid-state forms in relation to the bioavailability of these forms. This research area will pay special attention to the identification of the mechanisms of solid-state transitions by real time analysis of the complex phenomena occurring in process environment.
Understanding material properties in relation to the processability of pharmaceutics opens new perspectives for improved quality and more efficient production.
