Practical information on PhD courses

Course language

The course language of the courses "Introduction to University Pedagogy", and "Clinical Evaluation of Drug Products" will be Danish. The course language of the other courses will be English.

Course weight

The weight of each subject is stated in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System. 60 ECTS credit points equal one full year.

Course price

Participation in a PhD course is normally free for PhD students, however the following participants will have to pay a full course fee:

  • Participants not enrolled as PhD students.
  • PhD students at Danish and foreign institutions and faculties with which the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences has not entered into a payment agreement for PhD students.
  • PhD students, including externally financed PhD students enrolled at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, whose financial agreement with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences or with other Danish or foreign institutions and faculties does not include payment of course fees for participation in PhD courses.

As a general rule, PhD students enrolled at an institution of higher education (except students from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences), must pay for accommodation if they join a residential course and for operating costs if they join a course which includes expenses such as chemicals, course material, lunch, etc.

Link to the agreement on the open market for PhD courses (in Danish).

If the number of applicants for a specific course exceeds the course capacity at the closing date for receipt of applications, 80 % of the capacity is reserved for PhD students from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and from The Drug Research Academy and the remaining 20 % is reserved for PhD students from other institutions of higher education with which the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences has an agreement on course collaboration - places are allotted on a "first come, first served" basis.
