Structure of the MIND programme

The MIND programme is a 2-6 year part-time programme equivalent to 1 year of full-time study. MIND consists of 9 compulsory courses, a number of elective study units and a master's project.

It is possible to participate in individual courses as a freelance student.

Compulsory courses: 30 ECTS-credits
Elective study units: 10-18 ECTS-credits
Master's project: 12-20 ECTS-credits
In total: 60 ECTS-credits

Compulsory courses

Compulsory courses are intensive one-week or two-week modules. This structure makes it possible for international participants follow the program. Participants are expected to prepare extensively for each course and an exam is held after each course. Courses may be taken in any order. However, participants are recommended to start with the introductory overview course Discovery and Development of Medicines. Click here to see the current MIND course calendar.

Elective study units

In collaboration with a supervisor assigned by the University, the participant identifies relevant elective study units that support the participant's personal study profile. Elective study units must be at postgraduate level i.e. master or PhD-level and offered to master's students by a university in Denmark or abroad. Previously accepted elective courses may be seen here for inspiration.

Independent Elective Study

An Independent Elective Study gives students an opportunity to organise and carry out an independent project motivated by academic as well as personal interests. On completion of the project students will not only have obtained academic knowledge but also increased their ability to independently organise and carry out projects. Click here to read more about the Independent Elective Study.

Master’s project

The master's project completes the MIND-programme. It is a practice-oriented research project on an elective topic which allows the participant to apply the acquired skills and knowledge to the host organization or company. The project is supervised by a university lecturer and a supervisor from the participant's host organization or company. Click here to read more about the master's project.
