Ph.D. Project

The objective of this Ph.D. project is to explore whether differences in genetic profiles of patients with psychiatric diseases and diabetes (type 1) might have an influence on the outcome and safety of their medicine use. Through critical literature reviews, analysis of associations between reported ADRs and genotypes in epidemiological studies and text mining of electronic patient records, we aim to understand how genetic factors influence on drug efficacy and toxicity and the challenges that lie ahead in translating the research into clinical practice. Data derives from the Sct. Hans Hospital and the Steno Diabetes Center.

The project involves collaboration with the Novo Nordisk Foundation, Center for Protein Research, University of Copenhagen.
